Estate planning

Estate planning seeks to find the most tax effective way of distributing your wealth.  It also considers other assets that, by law are not included in your estate but which may constitute a large part of your wealth such as your Superannuation Funds, Family Trusts, Family Companies etc.  Darryl prefers to work with your Accountant and/or your Financial Planner so that he can deal with all your assets and ensure they pass to the correct beneficiaries.  Our estate planning strategy gives your executors mechanisms to keep your assets in your family bloodline and to:

  • Allow your beneficiaries to legally reduce tax on estate income each year;
  • Make large Capital Gains Tax savings on the passing of estate assets to children;
  • Prevent estate assets passing to a child's spouse on divorce or premature death;
  • Keep your estate assets in your family and not have them pass to your children's in-laws;
  • Prevent the second spouse of your or your widow/widower receiving assets which you would want to go to your children;
  • Reduce the amount of tax payable on your superannuation Death Benefit;
  • Protect the assets of your estate against your children's bankruptcy;
  • Prevent any assets which pass to children or grandchildren being lost because of those beneficiaries suffering mental illness, addiction to drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc.
